Raung Haira
The mountain keeps its own record of who went up and who came back.
Haira goes up Mount Raung to close a file her father left open, and finds a version of the mountain that does not appear on any survey map.
The higher she climbs, the less the numbers agree with each other: the log of an expedition that never registered, a village that counts its dead differently, and a summit that seems to decide for itself who is allowed to see it clearly. What starts as a search for a missing record turns into a negotiation with something the mountain has been keeping for a very long time.
The first novel in Seri Raung, and the story currently in development for the screen.
