Raung Pandora
Some doors were sealed by people who knew exactly what they were sealing.
The second Raung novel moves off the slope and into what was carried down from it.
A sealed container recovered from the 1817 survey passes through four owners in two centuries, and each of them writes down the same warning in a different language. When it finally reaches someone with the patience to read all four, the warning turns out to be an instruction - and the instruction has a deadline.
A story about inheritance, and about how thoroughly a family can agree not to discuss something.
